Monday and Tuesday

Monday

First thing we did was go to the kennels to collect Totty. She was pleased to see us and ran very fast to the car. The guy said she is a champion paper shredder and by the looks of her kennel I could see what he meant! She was very happy to be back home.

A very busy day and I got lots done, washing, housework and best of all my menus and shopping list till the beginning of January and then went to Tesco in the afternoon and bought pretty much everything on my list!

Jon wasn't very well today, he didn't know what was wrong but he had started to put up the lights outside and then came in and just sat down. I asked him what was wrong and he said he felt tired and his legs ached.

I made lunch but he was not particularly hungry and when I next looked he was asleep.

I made him a Lemsip before I went to Tesco which he drank and when I got back it looked like he had slept for the whole time I was away. I had bought some stuffing balls in Tesco and the young girl at the checkout asked me if I had ever tried making them myself!!!!! I told her I had all the family for Christmas dinner this year so I was making things easy for myself. I could have said I have made more stuffing balls than she has had hot dinners but it is Christmas!!! The stuffing balls are 'Tesco Finest' I would like to add.

Heather had picked out a chicken, potato topped pie from one of my magazines so I set about making that for dinner. It was a lovely recipe with a puff pastry bottom and filled with fried leeks, celery, carrot and chicken in a white sauce. The pie is topped with potato and sweet potato mash. A bit of a fiddle but well worth it.

Unfortunately, Jon was no better and didn't want any dinner but Heather and I enjoyed it. I had enough left for Heather to take to work tomorrow, a portion for Rene and enough for Jon and I tomorrow if he is well.

He was sat on the chair just sighing and puffing so I told him to go to bed and I made him another Lemsip. I think he may have flu or a virus and hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.

I sat watching TV and had my chair reclined and Totty was on my lap. She stood up and then threw up on the bottom of the chair, the bit that goes down. Trying to get up and out of the chair without letting anything slide off was very difficult but I did manage and then had to clean it all up.

That sorted Totty then decided it was her bedtime and I caught up with my weekend blog before going up to bed, too.

Jon usually leaves my bedside lamp on but as I got up the stairs it was off and pitch dark. I groped around to put the light on and then realise the bulb was broken but managed to undress and get into bed using the light from my iPad. I didn't want to wake Jon by putting the big light on.

I had been in bed for half an hour when I heard Totty up and she was sick again! Oh boy what a night. Using my iPad I managed to miss the vomit and put the bathroom light on. I then had to clean the carpet which of course did wake Jon.

I then went downstairs to get a torch just in case it was needed and it was one more time. Poor Totty not sure what is upsetting her but it isn't anything a Lemsip can sort.

Tuesday
I was up early again as I had a lot to do and first thing was to put the colour on my hair as it was looking rather grey at the roots.

Jon got up and said he felt a bit better but he still did not look good but did eat some breakfast. Totty stayed in her bed until quite late and I didn't give her any breakfast and she didn't seem bothered.

Jane had a dentist appointment and so I was going into Newmarket with her to look after Riley.

The lady from the upholsterer rang to say Rene's chair cover is ready and she is coming on Thursday to fit it so I went over to see Rene to tell her and take her the pie for her lunch. I was happy to see she is wearing the alarm pendent but I didn't mention anything about it.

When I got back Jane was there and so we went into town. I pushed Riley round to the doctor's surgery and went in to see my old colleagues and Riely was a good boy and smiled. I arranged with Sonia to have lunch on Friday.

I then popped in to see my friend Elaine at the travel agents as she has not seen Riley and we had a chat.

By the time I came out Riley was overdue for his bottle but was quite happy and Jane was just coming along from the dentist so we went into Costa for a coffee and to feed Riely. He is so nosey and just wanted to be up on his feet and looking around.

We then went and did our shopping. I have bought pretty much everything from Amazon this year but needed some stocking fillers for Heather. Before we knew it was two o'clock and we were very hungry.

We got back and I made lunch and Jon had some soup and said he felt better.

Jane had come over to put the marzipan on her cake something she has never done before so I thought it was about time I taught her so that she will be able to do it on her own and also make the cake next time. She did very well and so it is all ready for icing. Kirsty is coming over on Thursday to do hers. She doesn't like marzipan so it will just be icing for her.

Jane left as she had Heather going over for dinner tonight.

I wasn't going to feed Totty but she was pestering for food so I did. So far she has been OK.

I wrapped the stocking fillers up for Heather. I must remember not to buy wrapping paper with glitter on in the future as it is everywhere. I will finish the rest tomorrow.

I heated up the chicken pie and Jon ate some of that and then we watched TV. He had another Lemsip and then went to bed. Hopefully, he will feel much better tomorrow. And so will the dog.
