Totty is getting fed up with these short, wet walks! Will it never stop. Poor school children.
I had to go into Tauranga today as my library book is overdue and as I have renewed it twice online I can't do it again so now I owe $2. I also needed to buy a get well card for Rene and a birthday card for Jane and collect the key I have had engraved for Heather's 21st - all in the pouring rain. Th car windows kept steaming up and were difficult to clear.
We had a tsunami warning today because of the quake near Samoa. Lots of idiot people went out onto the beaches after being told not to. Some even took their children to the beaches. There were swells up in Auckland and on other beaches but nothing much thank goodness. Many people went up onto the Mount to watch but saw nothing. The devastation in Samoa is awful, it is one of the places we were considering for our holiday in January.
Malcolm sent an email with his flight details and he will only be here for 11 days. He arrives the day Jane leaves so they will see each other for a couple of hours in Auckland. I asked him why so short a time and he says he did not want to outstay his welcome! I was expecting him to be here for three or four weeks, such a long way to come for such a short time. Nothing we can do about it now as he has booked the tickets.
I spoke to Fran last night and she told me Rene had sat the chair for two nights and would not go to hospital until Fran insisted, what a stubborn woman she is. Hopefully she will be home in about a week but is saying she doesn't want home help. I feel bad being over here and not able to do anything to help her. Fran told me she is always saying how much she misses me.
I am going to stop now as my keyboard is playing up and missing out lots of letters andI am having to go over every word!!!!
