After dinner last night we told Heather that we had booked to go to Sydney for my birthday and would be leaving on Thursday till Monday. To say she was surprised would be an understatement. I don't know how we have managed to keep it a secret as she has been asking what we are going to do and trying to plan her weekends. She is now so excited as I am.
The weather was a bit brighter and Jon and I managed to get Totty out for a walk this morning before heading off to McLaren Falls. The last time we were at the falls was back in the summer when you could swim in the falls and walk across the rocks. Today was very different. The water was thundering down and the little rock pools were completely covered. They looked completely different. We then went up into the park and walked along the lake and fed the ducks and then took a walk into the bush along glow worm track but we didn't see any glow worms just a pretty little waterfall but it was all very muddy and we should have had our wellies on again.
We had lunch at the park cafe and then went to look at some miniature horses which were a bit of a waste of time but it passed and hour.
We then went out to Waimarino Adventure Park where they do kayak trips. They say no experience necessary but I don't think I fancy being in one of those little kayaks in case it flips over - the water must be very cold at this time of year!
A thunderstorm came over and it poured with rain again.
We are going to see Blood Brothers tonight at the Boys College and I hope it will be good.
