We decided to go out for breakfast this morning as we were up a bit later than usual and we had planned to go to the D Day celebrations at the airport, something that Heather had seen in the paper and fancied doing.
We arrived at the airport and found a space to watch all the goings on which were OK but not my cup of tea with all that standing - it kills my back. The air display with the old planes was very good but the battle re enactment was a bit feeble.
At the break we went off to get some lunch but the queues were so long. I think the good weather had brought more people out than they could cope with. We finally managed to get a cup of soup for Jon and a sausage in a piece of bread with some onions for Heather and I - we got two of the last four sausages and there was still a huge queue behind us. We were starving and a sausage has never tasted so good.
The rest of the display was fine with two planes having a pretend dog fight and men jumping in by parachute and then the final battle, not a bad day for $10 (£4). Heather and Jon really enjoyed it.
After that we went looking for a new camera for Heather but she needs to do a bit of research before she decides which one to buy.
Then it was home for a well needed cup of tea before dragging ourselves out again to walk Totty.
