Packing done!

The fridge is looking very empty now as I took all the perishable food out to take to Sharon and Les and everything in the pantry is in plastic boxes just in case a mouse moves in while we are away!!

Jon went off to work and I was getting ready and Heather called just to say hello but we didn't have much time to chat.

I went off to Red Cross and as there is no new stock in there was not a lot to do. Sharon told me that Des had a terrible hangover after dinner last Saturday- I wonder why that was!! Sharon's mum, Margaret, has just come back from six weeks in the UK and she brought me a lovely fridge magnet (she knows we have a big collection) with a little piece of Honiton lace on it and a lovely travel manicure set and a stick of rock from Teingmouth. Very kind of her. The shop was busy and the morning passed and it was soon time for coffee and cake. They are all going to miss me so much when I am away or maybe it will just be the cake every week they will miss!!!

I left to have my hair done and then came home for lunch and watched Neighbours so I am up to date with it now. I will have a lot to watch when we get back though.

I started the packing and I was surprised how well it went. Jon came into the bedroom and said 'it will never all fit' I told him to go away and leave me to it - it all fitted and it weights the correct amount yeah!!

The dog is following me around the house wherever I go at the moment, it is the packing that has done it. Poor little girl, I hate leaving her in kennels.

We heard today that it has been the wettest July here in 60 years!!! it sure has.

We did intend to go down to the local bar for dinner tonight but when we got there we didn't like the look of it and so we drove into town to a steak bar that I had heard was very good. You order a steak and then help yourself to the salad bar as much as you like and it was very good and the steak was melt in the mouth.

We got back and watched Coronation Street. We can't watch it while we are in the UK as we are only just on the Christmas train crash here so 19 months behind!!!

Well time for bed now. I hope I haven't forgotten anything!! Too bad if I have, no space and no more weight.
