I am so looking forward to next Monday morning when the book sale will be over, I have had enough of books for now!
I was up early and managed to get a batch of chocolate brownie cookie mix ready as it needs to stand in the fridge for four hours so i would be able to bake them when I got back from my class.
I took Tot out and the men are now busy digging lots of areas in the street for the pump house upgrade which is due to go on till the new year with a break over Christmas.
I went out to my class and it was lovely to see Ros back from the UK. Although we have kept in touch by email over the last six months it was nice to see her in person and congratulate her on her good news that she is to become a grandma in February and that she has sold her house in Angelsey and can now stay here permanently. She has a son and a daughter in Auckland and her pregnant daughter is due to move here in March 2013 which will be lovely for her.
We had a good class and all worked hard and earned our coffee after the class.
I went home and baked some cookies to take to the book room and then had a shower and washed my hair before having a quick sandwich and off to the book room and collected some books from a house on the way. I had to drive across the pavement to get out as they had a big digger outside.
I sorted more children's books out but couldn't stay long as I had my make up session.
The girl, Bridget, has been here nearly three years and was very nice and did a good job with the make up but made my brows too dark and thick. She said I should have them tinted but I don't think so. I bought some make up which cost a fortune so I had better use it and get practicing for the wedding.
A quick trip to the shop for some sausages for Heather and Jon and then home. I didn't have time to take Tot out, poor Tot.
I picked Helen and Jean up and I keep hoping they won't say they will drive as I really can't go with them as they frighten me to death. Not sure how I am going to get out of it but I can't go back to sharing lifts with them as it makes the meetings so stressful for me.
Dinner was OK but not as good as usual. We had a fish pie but the fish was a very 'fishy' fish. The pudding was lovely, chocolate cake with strawberries on top and a lovely fresh fruit salad.
We had a speaker talking about her charity which writes children's books called Books for Kiwi Kids and they aim to get lots of books into schools in Christchurch in the worst affected areas and we will no doubt give a donation.
I stood up to do my jokes and tried to read one out but it was so funny I kept laughing which made everyone else laugh even more - I haven't had a good laugh like that in a while!!
Got home and sorted out the recycling so it is ready to put in the car tomorrow morning on my way to swimming.
