Another lovely day but I was woken by the courier knocking on the door to deliver a parcel and as Jon was in the shower I had to run down to open the door and sign. It was a present from Heather for Mother's Day. I opened the box to find a very pretty box tied with ribbon but I did not open it, I will wait till tomorrow.
We had breakfast and then took Tot out for a walk and as is the norm now I had to keep tapping her on the behind to make her walk. It is really silly as when she does walk she seems to enjoy it!!
We then went into Tauranga and had a coffee sitting in the sun which is so warm today as there is no wind. We then went to buy a slow cooker. They are very popular here and hopefully I will get full use out of it - watch this space!!
WE then drove out tot the airport as Jon had booked his last gliding flight, we have certainly had good value from this birthday present which has taken nine months to complete.
The weather was not the best gliding weather and although the lady pilot tried her best to gain height they were only out for about 25 minutes. Jon had said he wanted to take photos and not do so much of the 'learning' and he did get some good shots and one just about shows where we live.
We then went to the Historic Village where they were holding the annual Multicultural Festival. It was a much better show than last week's food festival with lots of different foods to buy. We chose the S African stall to have lunch and it was very good. We watched some of the dance performances and then headed back into Tauranga to check out the St Patrick day celebrations on The Strand.
We bought an ice cream first of all and enjoyed sitting on the front looking at the harbour and it was really hot. The pub was very full so we decided to give it a miss and went instead to the art gallery. We have never been in before and there really isn't much to see but we did see our neighbour from Te Hono Street who was there to watch her daughter performing in a dance thing which was very sweet.
We popped in to the supermarket on the way home and once home we had a cup of tea before Jon went to cut the grass.
We had some good lamb cooked on the bbq for dinner and then watched some TV. I feel and look a little rosy from all that sun today.
WEATHER
Sunny and very warm 24 degrees but felt hotter
